Some of these paintings are done quickly without trying to think too hard, but just letting go and having fun. Sometimes I’m playing with color harmonies, complements, or greys, but mostly I'm just trying to get it down before my brain gets in the way.

Abstract Paintings

Playing around with abstracts helps me to remember that even in landscape painting, I like to have a good abstract design underneath to stucture and support the overlying idea. Here I'm trying to focus on the way the big shapes interact with each other, then break it down into smaller shapes.
