Award winning artist Susiehyer is a
full-time, professional oil artist who paints landscape, figure, still life,
interiors and more. She works both in the studio and en plein air creating
everything from quick field studies to large finished paintings.
Living in Evergreen, Colorado, Susiehyer
often paints the Colorado landscape. She also likes to challenge herself to take
on new approaches to her subjects and environments. Each year she visits several
new locations around the US and has traveled to Europe and the south Pacific to
paint and study. She participates in numerous Plein Air events each year and has
been invited to such notable events as Telluride Plein Air and Sonoma Plein Air.
Susiehyer is represented by several
galleries along the Colorado Front Range including Oh Be Joyful Gallery in
Crested Butte, The Framed Image in Denver, Mary Williams Fine Art in Boulder,
Arts At Denver, the Gallery At Roundtop in Rountop, TX.
Susiehyer's work has also been featured in
Southwest Art Magazine, Fine Art Connoisseur Magazine, Cowboys and Indians
Magazine, and been seen on the cover of Soundings, Mountain Country Life,
and Evergreen Living Magazine.

Best of Show in Plein Air Rockies 2011

article in this section on Kevin Weckbach, "Blazing a Trail" (page 108),
Susiehyer is profiled as one his students.
Award of Merit in Plein Air Artists of Colorado 2011: for "The
Nightwatch At Sisters" in the 15th annual show hosted by Saks Galleries in
Denver. Three of the five paintings accepted into the show were sold.
Paint America Association Signature Society: Susiehyer
has just been awarded Signature membership in this prestigious group. The Paint
America Signature Society honors those artists whose work has been recognized
for its excellence in Paint America's National Exhibitions and other significant
contributions to their programs.
